JACKSON FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP
PURPOSE
To provide African American High School graduates
living in Hamilton, Ohio's 2nd and 4th Wards with
financial support to assist in their education.
FOCUS
Baccalaureate Degree fields of study from
Certified Collegiate Colleges or Universities
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant must be an African American High School Senior residing within Hamilton, Ohio’s 2nd or 4th Ward with a 3.0 GPA or higher (on a 4.0 scale) to be eligible and must pursue an Undergraduate Degree (Bachelor’s Degree) from an accredited College or University.
CRITERIA
Selection will be based upon criteria determined by the Jackson Scholarship Leadership Foundation Leadership Board and Scholarship Committee from candidates who meet scholarship qualifications, residential and GPA requirements and other
Scholarship Committee criteria as may be deemed appropriate, such as community involvement, musical/artistic talent, etcetera.
AWARD AMOUNTS
Scholarship Award amounts and number of scholarships awarded is variable and shall be determined by the Scholarship Selection Committee for each year the Scholarship is given at a cumulative amount of no greater than $10,000 awarded per calendar year.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Applicant must submit two recommendation letters (at least one academic, and one voice from the community e.g. pastor, community leader, organizer, etcetera); High School academic transcript (may be unofficial transcript, but must be valid); show they fall within the residency catchment area; resume; and 500 word essay pertaining to how they are overcoming an obstacle and how their community has helped, fostered growth, or influenced a desire for success. The Jackson Scholarship Leadership Foundation will only accept documents in the following formats: Microsoft Word; PDF, JPEG. If documents are not submitted in these formats, applications may not be considered for scholarship awards. HTML, PNG, GIF, TXT or other formats will not be accepted and AI created or assisted content will automatically disqualify recipient(s) from awards.
